Only the best quality English hardwoods are used to produce bespoke furniture at SAFF.
To this clients have added more exotic timbers, all sustainably sourced, from further afield, like macassar ebony, Indian rosewood and American walnut.
Sam has an extensive stock of timbers that he has collected from local sources and milled himself, ready for use by his clients. This allows him to guarantee the quality of the timber giving each client a provenance of the chosen timber. Often clients come to Sam with a lump of storm damaged timber or a sustainably felled tree from their Estate or farm, with a request to mill it for them for future use for a specific commission(s).
Sam also employs extensive veneers, from across the world, again all sustainably sourced, to enhance the designs of his furniture and in producing the fantastic marquetry that he is renowned for.
