Tiger Secretaire
The Tiger Secretaire is a privately commissioned, bespoke piece of furniture.
I was approached by an international client who wanted to realise a dream. He had assembled over the years images of period furniture, together with some of his favourite paintings from the same period.
His request was to assimilate all of his research into a single piece of furniture, to house a gallery of bespoke wild animals, commissioned from Patrick Mavos Ltd in London.
The piece was also to include a great deal of marquetry, in particular a representation of Stubb's famous painting "The Royal Tiger".
I designed the piece and constructed it from an array of exotic timbers: Macassar ebony, cocobolo, tamo (Japanese) ash to name a few. Other materials employed include a silver inlay, bespoke LED lighting, leather panelling and a marble top.
Do you have a dream that you want to realise?
